This report was prepared (in 1999) by Bradworthy Parish Council and Local Agenda 21 Group from a survey developed by the Torridge Agenda 21 Forum and the Community Council of Devon.

Not a local youngster

This is most definitely not a local youngster!

The aim of the survey was to discover the opinions of the Parish on a number of issues of concern to parishioners, which emerged at a public meeting in the village.

A local youngster

This, though, is a local youngster

Additional questions were added by the Community Council to identify other areas of need or concern.

The survey was delivered to 468 households and collected by Parish Councillors.

219 households completed the questionnaire, a response rate of 46.8%.

The questionnaire was designed so that each member of a household could respond individually and gives a good spread of age and gender.

Lost PCs

What's the collective noun for a group of lost PCs?

There were 409 individual replies.

Bradworthy is a large parish, its boundary making the shape of an ancient oak.

Founded by the Saxons around 700 AD., it lies on the high culm measures of north-west Devon, a watershed bordered in the North by the River Torridge and in the West by the Tamar, which marks the boundary with Cornwall.

The name Bradworthy comes from the Saxon 'weorthig' or 'worpign' meaning 'enclosure', with its prefix 'Brad' indicating a broad enclosure and it is still noted for having the largest square in the Westcountry.

Thank you!
